With the guidance of Dr. Prof Jasmine Joseph, Principal, Mrs. Niveditha K N, Professor, Community Health Nursing Department-NSS Programme officer, Faculty of VINS & RC and 2^nd Semester B.Sc Nursing students organized Nasha Mukth Bharat Abhiyan-Government of India initiative on 13/08/2025 from 10.30am-12.15pm with the objective of creating mass awareness about the ill effects of Drug Abuse

The program commenced with invoking Divine grace & blessings with Prayer. After lighting the lamp the official inauguration of NSS Unit affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences was marked by Dr. Prof. Jasmine Joseph, Principal, VINS & RC in presence of the esteemed gathering. Keynote on National Service Scheme (NSS) was highlighted by Prof Niveditha K N emphasizing the motto of “Not Me But You” that is to embrace the selfless service and prioritize the needs of the community before one’s own self.

After a brief highlight on the significance of Nasha Mukth Bharat Abhiyan, Dr. Prof Jasmine Joseph, Principal, VINS & RC administered the mass pledge against drug abuse, which allowed everyone to collectively express their commitment towards the cause. NSS Volunteers were requested to take e-pledge and download their e-certificates of “Nasha Mukth Bharat Abhiyan” towards awareness campaign. Mr. Karthik and Ms. Harsha 2^nd Semester B.Sc Nursing students elaborated on the ill effects, prevention and control of Substance Abuse by using creative audio visual aids.

After awareness session Dr. Prof Jasmine Joseph, Principal, addressed and motivated the gathering to foster personal growth, social responsibility, and leadership skills while contributing to community development, thereby to bring the laurels to Vydehi Institute of Nursing Sciences and Research Centre. After vote of thanks programme concluded with National Anthem
