Theme: “Overcoming Disruption Transforming the AIDS response”

Program Overview

The Department of Department of Community Health Nursing observed World AIDS Day on December 1, 2025, the theme focused on addressing funding crises, rebuilding and strengthening HIV services, ensuring human rights and overcoming barriers like stigma and punitive laws to reach global targets. Based on these views a rally was organized in the community area.

Inauguration Program

The formal inauguration took place at the Vydehi RHTC, Kannamangala at 10:00 AM. The rally commenced with a formal introduction about the World AIDS Day and a talk regarding the theme was given by Dr. Sibin, Vydehi RHTC. After that the rally started from the Centre. Mrs. Vindhya, Block health educator, Mr.Javaraegowda, Senior Health Inspector and Mr.Prakash, Junior Health Inspector of Community Health Centre, Avalahalli, Bangalore joined the rally.

Activities Conducted

Awareness rally was planned by NSS and Department of Community Health Nursing at Kannamangala. Rally preparation were made priorly before the day of the event which included making informative pluck cards and students were trained to say the slogans in Kannada.

Rally started at 10 am from Vydehi Rural Health and Training Centre (RHTC) Kannamangala, The rally was for more than 3 kilometers by declaring the slogans-

1. Aids jagruti mudisi, Bhayavannu tolagisi
2. Nimma arogyavannu rakshisi, aids annu solisi
3. Aidsge tade, shikshanave modala hejje
4. Surakshitavagiri, jagrutaragiri,aids mukta samaja nirmisi
5. Ondagi horadi, aids annu niyantrisi
6. Aids annu ariyiri, kattukategalannu toreyiri
7. Kalanka bedavagide, kalaji bekagide

Many community people heard and appreciated the rally and conveyed that it was very useful. Rally got ended at Panchayath office where all the staff of Panchayath, Health Inspectors, Block Health educator(BHE) also took part in the event. BHE, Conducted an oath taking as a part of world Aids day 2025 celebration.

Outcome and Reflections

The rally successfully created the awareness about AIDS, its prevention among the Community people. Students gained knowledge and experience in organizing and participating in awareness rally. They understood the role of nurses in community health promotion. The collaborative efforts of faculty and students exhibited the commitment of Nurses and Nursing students in the aspects of prevention.

Conclusion

World AIDS Day 2025 rally by 7 th Sem BSc Nursing Students took efforts in creating awareness among community about the HIV and AIDS, its effect, spread, prevention and control. Through such program students gain a sense of responsibility as Community Health Nursing trainees.
