Vydehi Institute of Nursing Sciences & Research Centre, in collaboration with Pedistars, successfully conducted a one-day SNAP Workshop on “Simulation for Nurses in Acute Care Practice” on 22 August 2026. The workshop was attended by 57 nursing professionals from across Karnataka.

The programme commenced with registration, team formation and orientation. Dr. Prof. Jasmine Joseph, Principal, VINS & RC, welcomed the faculty and delegates. Dr. Manish and Dr. Smita introduced the faculty and outlined the objectives of the workshop.

The academic sessions included Crisis Resource Management, Supraventricular Tachycardia (SVT), Identification of the Sick Child, Cardiac Arrest, Traumatic Brain Injury, Acute Respiratory Failure, Septic Shock and Breaking Bad News. The sessions were facilitated by Dr. Smita, Dr. Akansha and Dr. Neetu. A team-based quiz conducted by Dr. Lewis and Dr. Smita further promoted collaborative learning.

The afternoon session focused on hands-on simulation training using simulation manikins and station-based clinical scenarios. Participants actively engaged in the simulations, enhancing their clinical reasoning, decision-making, communication, teamwork, leadership and crisis-management skills.

The workshop concluded with a post-test, participant feedback and memento distribution. Prof. Mary Rexline delivered the Vote of Thanks, acknowledging the contributions of the faculty, organizers and participants.

The workshop concluded successfully at 5:30 PM and served as a valuable initiative to strengthen simulation-based learning and competency-driven acute-care nursing practice.
