NURORA 2026- PRE NURSES’ DAY CULTURAL FESTIVAL REPORT
The Vydehi Institute of Nursing Sciences & Research Centre organized “Nurora 2026”, a two-day cultural and literary festival on 7th and 8th May 2026 as a prelude to the International Nurses’ Day celebrations. The festival aimed to encourage creativity, teamwork, communication skills, leadership qualities, and student participation beyond academics.
To promote sportsmanship, unity, leadership, and healthy competition among students, all participants were divided into four houses namely Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, and Amber. Throughout the festival, students actively represented their respective houses with great enthusiasm, coordination, and team spirit.
The first day of the festival focused on artistic and literary events. Competitions such as Face Painting, Pencil Drawing, Crafting, Rangoli, Poem Recitation, Extempore, and Quiz were conducted with enthusiastic participation from students across all nursing streams and batches. The events provided a platform for students to exhibit their artistic talents, spontaneous speaking abilities, creativity, and intellectual skills. The quiz competition particularly created an atmosphere of healthy academic rivalry and active audience engagement.
The second day highlighted performing arts and analytical activities. Events including Solo and Group Dance, Solo and Group Song, Instrumental Performance, Mime, Debate, and Model Making were organized successfully. The performances showcased students’ talents in music, choreography, public speaking, and conceptual presentation. The debate competition reflected the participants’ critical thinking and communication skills, while mime performances effectively conveyed social and healthcare-related themes through expressive movements.

The overall championship was given to “HOUSE SAPPHIRE”.
Nurora 2026 witnessed overwhelming participation and cooperation from students and faculty members. The festival created an atmosphere of joy, unity, and enthusiasm within the institution. It not only served as a cultural platform but also strengthened interpersonal relationships, teamwork, confidence, and leadership skills among students.
The successful organization and execution of the festival reflected the dedication and collaborative efforts of the student council, faculty coordinators, and organizing committees. Overall, Nurora 2026 became a memorable and vibrant celebration of talent, creativity, and institutional spirit.
INTERNATIONAL NURSES’ DAY CELEBRATION REPORT – 2026
The Vydehi Institute of Nursing Sciences & Research Centre celebrated International Nurses’ Day 2026 with great enthusiasm and dignity following the successful completion of Nurora 2026. The celebration was organized to honor the dedication, compassion, and invaluable contributions of nurses to society and healthcare services worldwide.
The formal program commenced with the Masters of Ceremonies, Archana and Angel Chacko, welcoming the gathering. The invocation song by Noel and team created a solemn and respectful atmosphere. Saloni from 2nd Year GNM delivered the welcome address and greeted the dignitaries, faculty members, and students present for the occasion.
A tribute to Florence Nightingale was conducted through a symbolic candle-lighting ceremony, emphasizing the spirit of service and humanity in nursing. The Annual Nursing Theme was unveiled by the dignitaries and principal. Jeffin from 1st Year presented an overview of Nurora 2026 and appreciated the active participation and talents displayed by the students during the cultural festival.
The celebration also included various cultural performances such as solo dances, group dances, group songs, and instrumental performances, which added vibrancy and entertainment to the program. A panel discussion on contemporary nursing issues highlighted important aspects of nursing education, patient care, ethics, and professional responsibilities.
The Principal delivered an inspiring keynote address emphasizing compassion, dedication, and professional excellence in nursing practice. The Prize Distribution Ceremony recognized and appreciated the winners of the various Nurora 2026 competitions. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Angel Ann (4th Year), followed by the National Anthem and refreshments for all attendees.
The International Nurses’ Day celebration was conducted successfully with active participation from students, faculty members, and dignitaries. The event reflected the institution’s commitment to promoting professional values, unity, creativity, and holistic development among future nursing professionals.
