Report Panel Discussion on Patient's Safety Needs 13th March

Faculty and Bsc Nursing 4th year Students of Vydehi Institute of Nursing Sciences & Research Centre attended panel discussion on “PATIENT’S SAFETY NEEDS” on 13th March, 2024 in online which organized by ANEI. The panel discussion started at 3 pm with the welcome address by Dr. Bindu George as a moderator.

Dr. Bindu George introduced seven additional members Dr. Mamta Gosulami (MS in AIG Hospital Hyderabad) Dr. Pragathi Kottapalli, Dr. Adavala Mallikarjuna, Mr. G Saikiran, Ms. Anuradha Bhatta [Assistant General Manager – Nursing and Patient Safety Officer] and Dr. Santhosh Reddy [Clinical Pharmacy Manager at AIG Hospitals Hyderabad]. Dr. Bindu George posed the question to the members regarding the contributions from various areas to patient safety.

Dr. Pragathi has explained about the prevention of Hospital acquired infections and to implement policies related to patient safety needs and conduct vaccination programme not only for the patient but also the staffs.

 Dr. Santhosh  has explained  about the adverse effects of medication and discussed the transition of care, the importance of maintaining the crash can’t and being prepared for code blue as well as emphasizing the necessity of using medications safety and with expertise. Dr.Pragathi Addressed Dr. Bindu’s inquiring by highlighting challenges in patient safety including training, integrating new staff and managing MDROS. Mr. Santhosh responded to Mrs. Bindu George regarding patient safety challenges and innovative solutions by due to poor handwriting, wading to medication errors.

The comprehensive discussions led by all dignitaries and the panel yielded fruitful insights on the importance of patient safety programs. Dr. Bindu George appreciated and thanked 4th year students since whole class students attended panel discussion. Programme ended at 4.30pm. Faculty and students of VINS&RC had  valuable knowledge on patient safety need.
