PROGRAMME DAY
Venue – SEMINAR HALL , MEDICAL COLLEGE BUILDING VINS &RC
Date -31/05/23 Time – 9:30am
Theme- WE NEED FOOD NOT TOBACCO.
On 31/05/23 Vydehi institute of nursing sciences and Research centre organised World No Tobacco day in collaboration
with Urban district Government of Karnataka.
The programme started with a rally followed by an awareness programme . The Urban district health care officials including District health officer, east taluk, District Surveillance officer , district counselors,block health educational officers, primary health care officers and ASHA workers , Directors and HODs of various institute of VIMS &RC ,Students and Non-teaching faculties graced this programme with their presence .
RALLY , 9:30am -10am
The programme commenced with a rally around the campus I.e from gate no. 2 to gate no 1 which was lead to the seminar hall. Dr Umamaheshwar MS sir,VINS &RC ,Dr. Jasmine Joseph ,Principal VINS & RC,Urban district health officials ,faculties VIN & RC and students took part in it.
PROGRAMME IN SEMINAR HALL, 10:15am - 1pm
The Host of the programme was Ms Rachita Anthony ,Asst. Professor,Child Health Nursing . VINS & RC .A Brief Introduction and the theme unveiling of WNTD 2023 was done.
The State Anthem was played followed by invocation song by 2nd gnm students.
The dignitaries Dr. Ravindrameti, District Health & Family Welfare officer Bangalore,Dr Manojhar , District Surveillance officer . Dr. Raghunath BB , taluk Health officer, Dr Umamahesheshwae MS sir , VIMS & RC Dr. Geeta Narayan ,MEC Vice Chairperson, Dr. Rabindra, Community Med HOD, VIMS &RC , Dr jasmine joseph ,VINS & RC were requested to be seated in the dais.
The lamp lighting was done by the dignitaries , health care officials and the students
The gathering was welcomed by Mrs. Abriti Singha,2nd Msc Nursing
With a warm welcome to the dignitaries and the guest, the programme was followed by prize distribution to the winners of the SPORTS COMPETITON organized by the SNA. The winners of cricket, throwball, badminton ,tug of war, race and painting
were felicitated which was led by Mrs. Parwati,1st MSc nursing ,VINS & RC.
World No Tobacco Day was officially introduced by Dr Manohar ,District Surveillance officer . He gave a brief introduction about the wntd programme with the report of decline in the use of tobacco in the past few years.
Dr. Ravindrameti,District health and welfare officer, Bangalore addressed the gathering Regarding the adverse effects of tobacco use and youth awareness followed by an interactive session.
Dr.Raghunath BB,Taluk Health Officer, Bangalore Urban District gave a brief presentation on TOBACCO, it’s manufacturing to it’s adverse effects on health .He also enlightened the gathering regarding the various measures that can be taken to prevent the use of tobacco.
The programme was followed by a brief talk on the laws and sections related to the use of tobacco and it’s retail in the public places by Dr. Chandrakiran LS , District Counselor, Advisor for tobacco control cell program, Bangalore.
Second half of the programme was conducted during which the gathering was enlightened regarding the professional grooming and professional etiquettes by Sir Thomas ,Chief Security Officer .
World no tobacco day programme was concluded by Vote of thanks which was delivered by Miss Anna 2nd BSc followed by the national anthem.
