Program Overview
Free Health Check- up and Treatment Camp as part of its community outreach and health promotion activities was planned. The program aimed at early detection of common health problems, health education and promoting awareness among the community regarding preventive health care.
OBJECTIVES OF THE HEALTH CAMP
- To provide free basic health check-up to the community people
- To identify common health problems at an early stage
- To create awareness regarding personal hygiene and healthy lifestyle practices
- To render basic treatment and referral services when required
- To provide health education and promoting awareness
Faculty Involvement
The program was coordinated and executed under the guidance of the following faculty members:

Preparation for the health Camp:
Health Survey of the area and meeting with the Panchayath Members, Health workers was conducted to finalize date and venue for conducting health camp. Arrangements for the were guided by the faculty and students were assigned to manage different counters such as Registration counter, Vitals Signs Assessment counter, Dental Examination Counter, Physiotherapy Counter, GRBS checking counter, General Medicine Counter, ophthalmology counter, Health Education counter and refreshment counter. All the required articles and
equipment were arranged and transported to the Health Camp venue to use on the day of the camp. Campaigning was done in the area about the health camp by distributing handbills.
Inauguration Program
The formal inauguration took place at the Community Hall Cheemasandra, Avalahalli , Bangalore, at 10:00 AM. The camp commenced with a prayer song, welcome address to the renowned Panchayat leaders of the community area. The health camp was inaugurated by watering the plant and followed by an information note to the community people by the faculties of community health nursing regarding the early diagnosis and right treatment at the right time.
Activities during the camp:
Basic health assessments such as measurement of blood pressure, blood glucose levels, body weight, height, and general physical examination were carried out. General Medicine, Ophthalmology, Dental examination and Physiotherapy unit functioned efficiently in providing health examination and health care to the community people. Health education was provided on topics including nutrition, personal hygiene, prevention of common diseases, and importance of regular health check-ups. Necessary guidance and referrals were given to the individuals requiring further medical attention.
Outcomes and Reflections
The camp was well appreciated by the community members. Around 88 individuals from the community received the benefits of the free health check-up and gained awareness regarding their health. The program successfully fulfilled its objectives and strengthened the bond between the institution and the community. The coordinated effort of the faculty and students was exemplified portraying the unity, commitment, follow up and team work in reaching the health services to the community people by applying the aspects of Community Health Nursing.
Conclusion:
The Free Health Check-up and Treatment Camp conducted on 16/12/2025 at Cheemsandra, Avalahalli Community Hall was a successful community health initiative. Such programs play a vital role in promoting preventive health care and improving the overall health status of the community. The institution remains committed to organizing similar programs in the future for the welfare of society
