REPORT ON PULSE POLIO TRAINING

Event Title: Pulse Polio Program

Date: Dec 21 to 24, 2025   

Venue: Siddapura PHC and Garudacharyapalya PHC

Organized by: Department of Community Health Nursing and NSS Unit of Vydehi Institute of Nursing Sciences and Research Centre, Bangalore

Participants: 7 th Semester BSc Nursing Students, 1st Sem BSc Nursing Students batch 1 and 2

Planning:

Pulse polio program under the National Health Program which was guided by our Principal Madam Prof. Dr. Jasmine Joseph, VINS & RC, Bangalore and with coordinated efforts of Department Of Community Health Nursing Prof. Asha Latha .S, HOD,  Prof .Veena NSS officer the students participated in the program.

During the training:

The program started with a formal inauguration at Siddapura PHC by the distinguished guests. The students actively involved in the Pulse Polio Program on the scheduled days from 21-24 of December 2025 the necessary things were given to the students such as vaccines, vaccine carrier, documentation papers and marker. The first day 4 members posted in the booth and next three days students were posted in the area to cover vaccination of the under five children by going home to home. Students carried out the program as expected by documenting the details clearly in the papers handed over to them, marking on the houses which they have visited with based on the instructions given during the training. The Primary Health center medical officer appreciated the students and conveyed her gratitude through a formal letter addressing to Principal for the coordination and support towards the program, along with this letter the certificate of participation was handed over to the students.

Outcome of the training program:

The students involved in the Pulse Polio Program guided by the knowledge that they gained through the training and under the supervision of the PHC staffs they worked well under the Siddapura and Garudacharyapalya PHC.

Conclusion:

Students participated in the Pulse Polio Program with all sincerity and took efforts to cover the Under five children in the areas allotted to them by vaccinating them against the dangerous disease Poliomyelitis. The students served the community through PHC where they got posted and area under these centers were served by our students. It is honor for the Institution and for  the students to be part of the National Health Program as such which focuses on prevention of the disease.
